My needs are few but very important.  I need a place to sleep, food, shelter, and good leadership.  Teach me what you expect of me and find me a place in your family.

And in return for your love, I promise you a lifetime of companionship, love, attention, and devotion.  I will be there every moment of my life, through good times and bad.  To be by your side, steadfast and ready to do your bidding, without complaint or reservation.  Ready at a moments notice to play with you, or relax by the fire, or to protect you with my life.

And in my reflective years, when we have been life long friends, and I am no longer able to run all day, I promise continued devotion and will still carry out my promise to the best of my abilities. 

For you are my leader! And this is my promise! And in this way I will be with you always. Long after I am gone from this world, I will be there to laugh with you, cry with you, love you, and comfort you!
